Despite rain, sleet, ice and snow – the pub crawl must go on (and it did!) Nineteen chicks gathered at Cally’s Restaurant and Brewing Company around 1PM on Saturday to kick off our grand beer tour of Harrisonburg, VA. Mark and I dodged bad weather for three days in order to make the journey from Front Royal to Harrisonburg to join our friends who were ready to paint the town “beer”. And that we did. (more…)

That’s what he said. Three beers into a tasting at Jack Brown’s Beer and Burger Joint in Downtown Harrisonburg, the Specialty Beer representative announced to a full house that the South American Palo Santo tree was some “serious wood.” And that was what the whole night was about: beer + wood = amazing flavor. Wow! We had a great time hosting our first beer tasting event at Cristina’s Cafe! The turnout was way more than we had hoped for and everyone was really into trying and discussing each beer with us. Wendy and Crissy cooked up an incredible feast of homemade spicy gumbo, fresh bread, gingerbread cake and offered a delicious line of local cheese. The beer line-up? (more…)
